Rainey Installed as New Floyd County Chamber of Commerce Chair
Thomas Rainey, Center Director for Carl D. Perkins Job Corps, is the new Chair of the Floyd County Chamber of Commerce. Rainey was installed as the 2013-14 Chamber Chair by County Judge Executive R.D. “Doc” Marshall during the annual Chamber awards banquet in May.
Rainey began his employment with the Carl D. Perkins Job Corps Center in May, 2002 as the Finance & Administrative Director and was promoted to Center Director in January, 2008. Since being named Center Director, Rainey has helped the Carl D. Perkins Job Corps Center climb to the #7 center in the country.
Rainey is a 1991 graduate of Wheelwright High School and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Pikeville College in 1995. Rainey is also a 2006 graduate of the Chamber’s Leadership Floyd County Academy. He resides in Banner with his wife, Michelle Blair Rainey, and their two children; Madison, 13 and Jacob, 10.
Rainey said he was “honored” to serve as the new Chair of the Floyd County Chamber of Commerce. “The Chamber is an organization created by businesses to help promote each business. We support business opportunities and provide resources to help build partnerships. It’s through our membership that we will grow and promote a positive image for our business community. I look forward to working closely with our Board of Directors this coming year.”
