COMMERCE/ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Develops and carries out programs for existing businesses, encourages new development of potential industrial sites, and maintains information for a county profile to be available for prospective new industries.
EDUCATION
Maintains contact with the Floyd County Board of Education, Big Sandy Community and Technical College, and all educational institutions throughout Floyd County to assist with school programs and help to improve the overall school quality for our children.

AMBASSADOR PROGRAM
The Floyd County Chamber Of Commerce announces the creation of the Chamber Ambassador Program. The Chamber Ambassador Program has been established to create a network of individuals that will serve as ambassadors and advocates for the Chamber.
The primary purpose of the Ambassador Program is for the Ambassadors to act as advocates by promoting the Chamber to new and potential members while encouraging current Chamber Members to maximize their membership.
Chamber Ambassadors that are selected will visit existing members and recruit new members. Chamber Ambassadors will assist in welcoming new members to the Chamber, participate in Ribbon Cuttings, and attend Chamber Events such as the bi-monthly membership meetings and Business After Hours events.
The Chamber Ambassador Program is a great opportunity for business professionals to be in a position of leadership, visible in the communities, and for obtaining new business contacts. The Chamber Ambassadors will also act as a liaison between the Chamber and its members, relaying concerns from the business community and ensuring all members get the maximum benefits of their Chamber membership investment
LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
The Leadership Floyd County Academy is a program designed to promote and develop informed business and community leaders among the citizens of Floyd County. This program was designed for the participants to gain insight into the operations, available programs, services, and issues of Floyd County.
The primary focus of Leadership Floyd County is to build a communication network of individuals willing to assist in advancing the county’s growth, along with new and innovative ideas. This program gives emerging leaders an inside view of Floyd County.
Through fast-paced sessions, participants will explore issues with key decision-makers, develop a network of contacts, and join the fast track to effective community service.
Participants will be introduced to our county experts as well as the most compelling issues that face our county today. Experts will lead stimulating, full-day sessions each month on topics relevant to Floyd County and its future. Session topics include health care, education, economic development, environmental/infrastructure, government, and tourism.
SESSION GOALS
Promotes teamwork and problem-solving skills. Creates awareness of county issues. Debate issues that directly affect our county, state, and the federal government. Identify emerging leaders from all sectors of our county. Brings together people and resources from the business and civic communities.
Facilitate participation in Leadership Floyd County and community service. Familiarize participants with economic, governmental, cultural, educational, and social organizations in Floyd County. Develop a network of future leaders.
